  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined, then fold in chopped apples.
  6. Mix sugar and cinnamon for rolling in a small bowl.
  7. Roll dough into balls, coat in cinnamon sugar mixture, and place on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are golden; cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
