  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound turkey bacon
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon tallow or turkey bacon grease
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • Kosher salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon until crispy; reserve some for garnish.
  2. Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat, adding tallow or turkey bacon grease.
  3. Sear the sirloin chunks until browned; set aside.
  4. In the same pot, brown the ground beef, adding optional spices if desired.
  5. Return the sirloin to the pot and pour in the beef broth; stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes.
  7. Crumble in the cooked turkey bacon before serving; season with kosher salt to taste.
