  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese (at room temp)
  • ¼ cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • orange food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 8 x 8 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla until combined; then add to dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. For the cream cheese layer, beat softened cream cheese with sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and orange food coloring until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared dish. Add spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top and then pour the remaining brownie batter over it. Gently swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  7. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
