- 360 g granulated sugar
- 360 g butter
- 6 eggs
- 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 90 ml milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 400 g butter (salted)
- 800 g powdered sugar (icing sugar)
- 1¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp milk (optional)
- Electric green food coloring (a few drops)
- 250 g orange fondant
- 200 g black fondant
- 1 tbsp CMC powder
- Sprinkles
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line baking trays with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together self-raising flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together granulated sugar and butter until fluffy. Add eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition followed by vanilla extract.
- Gradually combine dry mixture with wet ingredients while alternating with milk; mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared trays and bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For buttercream, beat salted butter with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth; add milk if needed and color with food coloring.
- Once cooled, layer crumbled cake and buttercream in jars, topping with sprinkles and fondant decorations.
